Welcome

If I am interested in bringing my dog to K-9s Come 1st, what do I need to do?
First, make sure your dog has all the required vaccinations which include Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella and a fecal with a negative result that has been done in the last 6 months. You can then contact us to set up a temperament test.

Does my dog have to be spayed or neutered?
Yes, all dogs must be spayed or neutered by the time they are 6 months old.

Do you keep the dogs in crates or dog runs all day?
No, this is a free roam facility. We have a large yard with pools, toys, sprinklers and lots of room to play. When the weather is bad we have large air conditioned rooms for playtime.

How do you know all the dogs will get along?
We conduct a temperament test on all dogs before they are allowed to attend Day Care or Board with us. We check for their ability to get along with other dogs, and signs of food or toy aggression.

What are your hours of operation?
We are open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday thru Friday

When can I pick up and drop off my dog for day care or boarding?
Drop-offs start at 7:30am Monday - Friday for day care and boarding. All drop-offs must be made before 10:00am. We do not accept dogs after this time. Pick ups must be made by 6:00pm or there is a late fee.

If I want my dog to eat at daycare is it possible?
Yes, bring what you want your "kid" to eat during the day and we will make sure they are fed.

If my dog boards with you are they ever alone?
No, we live on the premises & they are never alone. Mon-Fri. they play all day with the daycare dogs, and on the weekend they play with our dogs and the other boarding dogs. They live in our home as if it were their own.

How old does my dog have to be to attend daycare or boarding?
16 weeks old and had their last series of shots.

Do you have a groomer at your facility?
No, but we do nails at your request for $7.00 and offer baths on Friday. Bath prices are determined by coat length.

I work long days and my dog stays home alone but he has never been around any other dogs, do you think daycare would be good for him?
Yes, daycare is great for most dogs. Each dog is judged individually based on their social skills. Our day care environment can be a great opportunity for a dog to learn how to socialize with other dogs in a supervised manner. Doggie day care offers many benefits for both you and your dog. Exposing your dog to different situations, playmates and people is critical for developing a well-socialized dog.

Do you offer any treats for the dogs?
Yes Little Paws Bakery & Boutique sells homemade yogurts and treats that are available for purchase, and we will give to them while they are here at daycare or boarding.

What happens if there is an accident and my dog gets hurt?
We would notify the owner. We would then proceed with first aid steps, or if the injury is serious enough we will get the dog to the vet.

What is your cancellation policy for boarding and daycare reservations?
There are no reservations needed for daycare. Boarding reservations is a must! There is a $25.00 cancellation fee if not notified before the 24 hours of your boarding date.

How often should I bring my dog to day care?
All dogs are different and that is determined by your needs. Most of our doggie guest visit twice per week - some more frequently, and some less frequently. The one thing that we do recommend is that your dog comes at least once a month to stay in tune with our environment. We find that if dogs do not visit on a regular basis, they often are resettling into the group dynamics every visit, which is not ideal for them or the other doggie guest. In order to board, our guest must have been to a day of day care within the last 6 months of their boarding date.

Is there a discount if my dog comes for day care on a regular basis?
Yes, you can purchase a 5 visit package and get 10% off the regular price. These do not have a time limit to be used up.

I need to board my dog, but he does not get along with other dogs and does not like people. Should we use your facility?
No, the dogs that stay with us have supervised play with other dogs all day. For this reason, we can only accept dogs that interact well with other dogs. Also, if your dog has ever attacked a person or shown aggressive tendencies we will not accept him as a guest. Safety if our number one concern.

I am going out of town for two weeks. Is K-9s Come 1st able to watch my dog for that length of time?
Absolutely!! As long as we have available space, there is no limit to the time your little one stays with us!

My two dogs are use to sleeping together at home. Can they stay together at K-9s Come 1st?
Yes, all of our guest will enjoy their time with us just as they would at your home!!

Do dogs that are boarding over holidays and weekends get play time even though you may not be open for day care clients?
Yes, dogs that are boarding with us during holidays or weekends, still enjoy a full day of playtime with other boarding dogs and our own dogs.

What do I need to bring for my dog when he stays overnight?
All that you need to bring is food. We ask that you provide your dog's own food from home to maintain consistency in your dog's diet. We provide all the comforts of home including blankets, beds, toys etc.
